My Story

Cathy began her service in public education in 2001. She is deeply committed to the professional development of other educators and provides continuous training and support to colleagues. Cathy shares her expertise as a speaker at conferences such as National Schools to Watch, AMLE (Association for Middle-Level Education), and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education).

She has a strong passion for enhancing educational accessibility and implementing research-based practices. She is always eager to share her insights and knowledge with others. Cathy’s contributions to education have been recognized through several accolades: she has been named a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, a Fellow, and a Microsoft Certified Coach. Additionally, Cathy has been honored as an ‘Emerging Leader’ by the SC Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. The HP Teaching Fellow program has recognized her as a fellow for demonstrating the principles of Powerful Learning in her teaching and learning practices.

Cathy contributes to the broader educational community as a micro-credential developer and assessor for the University of South Carolina and as an evaluator for the Schools to Watch program. Additionally, she served on a nationwide team to pilot Micro-credential Quality Assurance Standards through the Micro-credentials Partnership of States (MPOS).

Fueled by a love of learning, Cathy founded Blazers, LLC in 2024. Cathy established this venture to expand her capacity to provide high-quality coaching and training for educators. She is prepared to guide and assist your efforts to enhance instruction, recruit instructional best practices, and recreate professional learning programs. Cathy is excited to aid your creation of professional book studies, train educators on retrieval practices, institute engaging brain breaks, restructure school-wide professional learning, and much more.
